Try uninstalling Yahoo Messenger then downloading it again. You won't lose any of your contacts, I assure you:

Click on: Start

Click on: Control Panel

Click on: Add/Remove Programs

Click on: Yahoo Messenger then remove

Download Messenger from one of the following links:

You may have too many programs running in the background draining your system's resources. Tuneup Utilities 2007 is an excellent program which has a Start-up Manager Tool which you can use to disable unnecessary programs from automatically starting up when you boot or restart your computer: http://www.download.com/3000-2094_4-1069...

Computer Geniuses please help!?virus scanner

you probably aren't logged on as an administrator. log off and log back in with an administrator account

... or somethin like dat...
Log Off. Use your Administrator account and try adjusting it again
what particular error does it say? i dont know if you've done that right. so lets just go with it again.

tools/ internet options/privacy and then set it to LOW. you can also disable ''BLOCK POPUPS'' here. that might be the cause for your page not coming up.

All the best.
Why bother with internet explorer to edit, used Opera or Mozilla firefox or something...daaaa. Its more easier.
Hey i can help you but you have you email me i cant help like this on this board!
Put the page that you need to go to, and only that page into your Trusted Zone where you will be able to move the slider lower.

Internet Explorer will not let you lower the setting below medium in the Internet Zone because it would present a severe security risk to your computer and your data.

Just be careful of any site that you put into the Trusted Zone. Be sure you can trust them!

By default any site not in the Restricted or Trusted Zone will automatically be placed in the Internet Zone. Confusing, huh?
go to tools and privacy and put it to low
Go to Internet Options and the Privacy tab and slide the slider down.
just download security software from download.com

and install it on ur windows

It sounds like one of many different viruses written for MSN/Windows Messenger over the years. Your best bet would be run a capable anti-virus program (there are a few available for free, e.g. AVG Free edition) which should remove the virus for you in a fairly straight-forward fashion. These days manual removal of viruses (especially something as integrated as with MSN/Windows Messenger) is usually a fairly risky business. I've been ''fixing'' Windows computers for years, but I still leave virus removal up to software that really knows what it's doing.

How safe is this? (hard drive security)?

... okay, i have recently purchase an external hard drive that use a software name: secure L#ck ware... and, then, i realize a little... no, actually, a big problem, as when i connect the device to a second computer without this software... *and i can actually detect this hard drive through: my computer %26gt; right click %26gt; manage...'' and, i can even reformat the damn thing from another computer that has no software installed, no password no authority what-so-ever!!! that worried the hell out of me, as it's only common sense, for one can do a quick initialization of a hard drive, and still get more than 1/3 of the original content recovered... (please correct me if i am wrong :P)

so, it just make me worry... how safe and secure is this product? (in terms of keeping ones privacy and secret?)are there any thing i can do (other than drop it, that ain't an option =_=. ) to better secure some thing i want to keep it to myself for the rest of my life?

all hints are appreciated, thanks. %26gt;_%26lt;.

You're actually asking about two separate (yet related) questions: (1) Does the program keep my data secure, and (2) what could someone recover if the drive were stolen/accessed by an unauthorized user, even if they didn't have the software? Since #2 is the real danger, I'd say you're putting your faith in the software manufacturer - if you trust the encryption algorithm, it doesn't matter if the drive is accessible - that's exactly what the software is supposed to prevent. Sounds like you already know about recovering data from a formatted drive, so the real question is simple - do you trust the software to keep your ''private'' data secure NO MATTER WHAT?
