I need to turn on MS Internet Explorer displays Protected Mode. Under Tools %26gt; Options %26gt; Security, I have the Enable Protected Mode box checked and I have internet security set on High. I have tried unchecking the Protected Mode box and rechecking it and restarting IE, but nothing has worked so far.
I am also seeking advice on how to best protect my pc. I have Windows Vista, AdAware, and McAfee.
Currently, I have McAfee Firewall turned On and Windows Firewall Off. Is this correct? What would happen if I turned on both Firewalls?
I use both IE and Firefox web browsers and have the latest versions. When I use Firefox for several days, AdAware only finds a few files to remove. However, when I use IE for only one day, AdAware finds 20-75 files to remove. How can I help decrease this?

most virus are spread through IE. IE is not a safe browser.
you should use a more secure browser to protect your PC from virus. i recommand you to use firefox with Google toolbar.
firefox can block any any popup and disable any virus and adware, spyware on webpage, so, firefox is much safer than IE browser.
as you know, most of virus spread throught internet and webpage.
