Norton Internet security? i installed Norton on my PC a couple of weeks ago,?

i run windows xp,my computer has been going haywire since then,it wont close down,and now when i try to open Norton to run a scan,it wont open ,when i eventually get norton open it wont scan,the screen just freezes.

Can i uninstall it then re-install it ?

I would appretiate any help before i put my boot through the screen.

Check if you license is expired first, it may just be expired which caused it to stop working.

You can uninstall and reinstall it.

Skip to step 8 if you're sure you are not infected with any virus or spywares. (Check this firs: Right click on taskbar|task manager, spot any weird application names and google them)

1. Download free antivirus scanners like Avast or AVG to scan if it was caused by any viruses first.

2 .Update to the latest virus definitions.

Boot to safe mode (F8 before loading windows) (if it gets into the BIOS boot device seletor select your HDD and spam F8 immediately)

3. Do a scan while in safe mode.

If nothing is found you can uninstall the application if required (Note: you need to boot back into normal mode first)

4. Next install a spyware and adware scanner
