How do you completely uninstall Norton Internet Security 2006?

I tried to uninstall this program twice before but it ends up crashing my computer and i eventually have to reinstall the operating system. My OS is Win XP Home Edition. My computer is a Pentium 4 that is only a year old. Any help regarding this issue would be greatly appreciated.

This is what happened to my family: Our computer crashed for unexplained reasons, and we called Geek Squad to salvage what they could. In addition, they installed Norton to our computer! Yippee!!

Within no time, the computer was back to it's crappy self, and even worse! Eventually, Norton stopped working altogether, making things worse, and Trojans started attacking the computer. Norton would often screwed up, and eventually started telling us notifications in Spanish. Well, as you can see, it wasn't working for us, so I shoved as many files as I could ontu a portable 8gb mini hard drive, and just wiped the slate clean.

My advice: Do just that. Wipe the hard drive(after you save all your stuff to a remote location), reload your Windows XP, and then get a DIFFERENT protection system.

Moral of the story: NORTON CANNOT BE TRUSTED!

The end.

Go to Norton site, they have a program you can download to remove the program. As an alternative you can click on start, run, type in msconfig, click OK on the window that comes up click on startup and search for all the Semtec lines and uncheck all the box's next to them. reboot and go add/remove and remove all the programs with symetec
I dont know but I will be watching this question my trial ends in about 15 days. Hope someone gives you some good advice.
Calm down! The solution is easy!

Download and run the Norton Removal Tool from the Norton / Symantic website.
